About Lions Club Cabarita Beach & Pottsville Beach
The Lions Club of Cabarita Beach Pottsville Beach has been serving the local community since its charter dinner on 2nd June 1975, sponsored by the Kingscliff Lions Club.
Serving the Community Since 1975
As the first service club in the area, it began with 29 members, initially only men, as women participated under the Lioness banner at the time. In 1987, Lions and Lionesses united under one banner, and in 1995, the club adopted its current name.
Over the years, the club has played a crucial role in shaping the community. Key projects include constructing the Pottsville Community Hall in 1982, contributing to the Norries Headland Walking Track, and developing the skateboard park at Les Burger Field, Bogangar. The club has also been involved in major events such as organising the opening ceremonies for the Barneys Point Bridge in 1996 and the Yelgun to Chinderah Bypass in 2002.

Like all Lions Clubs, our primary mission is to serve the community while supporting national and international Lions projects and initiatives.

Lasting impact on the Tweed Village community
Our Impact
Over the years, we have made a lasting impact on the Tweed Village community, supporting various organisations and individuals. One of our most significant contributions was during and after the recent floods, where we distributed over $86,000 in aid over eight months. This included a grant from the Lions Disaster Foundation Fund, along with funds raised through our Disaster Fund and the generosity of the community.
