Description
Please join us on a casual bike ride through the spectacular Tweed countryside. We have planned a scenic trip starting from Burringbar and passing through a huge variety of landscapes. Take your time and have a day out in the country. Stop along the way for brunch, coffee, lunch, artisan ice cream and mouth-watering cakes. Enjoy hand made cheeses and other local produce along with the views. Or…. do the full 50km track in one go and enjoy brunch at one of Pottsville’s eateries. The route includes the 25km long Northern Rivers Rail Trail, winner of numerous awards. There are cafes, restaurants, art galleries, iconic pubs and roadhouses and soooo much great scenery.
Why? Well apart from having a great day you’ll be helping to raise funds for prostate cancer research.
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in Australia.
More than 28,000 Australian men were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2025.
1 in 5 of Australian men are at risk of being diagnosed in their lifetime and men living in regional or rural areas of Australia have approximately 24% higher rate of dying from prostate cancer than their urban counterparts.
Cabarita Beach and Pottsville Beach Lions Club is raising funds for prostate cancer research, while increasing awareness of the disease in Tweed Coast communities. https://lionscbpb.org.au/lions_news/lions-pedal-for-prostate/

This is NOT A RACE. Take your time and make a day of it. It’s a wonderful way to experience and enjoy all the things that the Tweed Coast has to offer – amazing beaches, waterways, spectacular countryside, restaurants, cafes, galleries, markets and more. There are plenty of places along the route to refuel with delicious treats and refreshments. We will also have two official rest stops around 1/3 and 2/3 along the route with free water and snacks. Funds raised will be donated to The Lions Prostate Cancer Research & Treatment Project and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.
Although the ride is mostly on bike paths and back roads, some is on busier roads so please ride carefully and for safety reasons we request that no children under 14 take part.
Keep in mind that the rail trail will be open to all users so be considerate, keep to the left and give way to walkers, and watch out for cyclists travelling in the other direction. And wear a helmet.
Here’s a link to some some helpful and valuable info about cycling and safety from Bicycle NSW:
